I really wouldn't trust anything that's labeled official from Nintendo.

Hmm. I could (probably) find the text in the ROM, but as for dumping it... no. I wouldn't have the first idea how to go about that.
Jay'd probably have a program for dumping with his stuff? I'll have to look over it and 'fix' it to work with 2000, if I can...

What Golden Demon Monkey? Where the heck you get a translation like that? If you're talking about the pretender, that monkey had 6 ears. I don't know how they could have translated it to Golden Demon Monkey. Well the golden part doesn't make sense.

Its the screwed up translation....
Theres near no good translations of the original novel and even the best one has some very bad points. I'm trying to find the original Chinese rewrite but I have had no luck unless you could point me to one TF? The Demon Monkey King bit makes sense but I think the Golden bit was a bad translation for the most part.

I've heard that Anthony Yu's translation is good, but I've not read it, so I can't say with certainty.

Sorry, I have no clue where to find it. I only know a ROTK translation online.

Anyone care if I go back to the ending scripts?
OK, I was able to find the _text_ of (pieces of) the ending scripts, but trying to work my way along them gives me a headache, so I just looked for where people started talking.
Now, the problem is, I can't dump anything because a) I'm missing a library, and b) I wouldn't know how to use the program even if I could compile it.
I went looking for pointer tables, but either they're stored differently for text, or I didn't recognise them, or they're further up than I went. (Actually, there were control codes I have labelled as 'crash' which had arguments suspiciously exactly the same as absolute pointers to the text... but I don't know how they work).
In any case, here are the addresses I found, hopefully someone will be able to do something with them. Generally they start at the closest Target Window code, not the text itself.
Celice/Levin: 1D:CD49 Yuria: 1D:D1F3 Celice again: 1D:D25B Shanan: 1D:D368 Leif: 1D:E363 Aless: 30:BD9C Faval: 30:CAE2 Patty: 31:EBE6 Tinny: 31:F269 (tentative) Johan: 31:F66C Johalva: 31:F7E0
I know that these really aren't that helpful, unless you want to transcribe by hand (Don't. I tried), but, hopefully someone who can dump will be able to use them.
Now I want to know why j2e couldn't find them. They're not exactly hard to find. Say less than five minutes. (For one, not all of them).
I hope they're the right numbers as the ones I found, because I can't read my own writing :/
I'll look for some more markers for people later on if anyone can do anything with these.

She mentioned in her LJ that she was probably going to be scarce while she had some tests and things to worry about.

Ta-da! I'm back! Evil can't die!
I'm still going to be pretty much AWOL for a few days though, since the holidays haven't started and.....I have to pick my laptop. (I want a Dell, but dad hates Dell and I don't like his IBM, so I'm looking for other options) Should allow me to get work done faster for these projects.
Aside from that, there's taxes (LE SIGH) but I wouldn't want to bother you with the gory details. (Yes, we chopped up the tax collectors. =P )

My dad has a Dell. It's a piece of crap.
But I'll spare you all the Rabid Mac Supporter rant, and instead say that I got a major kick out of the mental image of the chopped-up tax collecters. =3
